Always a new adventure around every corner..... And payback is a.....

In early May, Central Alabama had some record-breaking rain. In one day it rained well over 6 inches. Needless to say, you couldn't keep the boys from going out and playing....
Wes and his Dad decided to go check Kenner Creek the afternoon that the rain stopped. What Wes has learned is that documentation is key (always take a camera)....
He was taking this picture of the creek and had no intention of Jake being in it. You can see that Wes' Dad is riding with his knees on his seat because he was dressed in a polo shirt, some jeans, and clogs. You can also see (but don't know) that this creek is way over its banks and it was flowing into the trail Wes' Dad is turning on......

Wes tells the story as he took the above pic and then turned right and took another of the creek. Immediately he heard the (very familiar) sound of a 4-wheeler drowning....
The creek had washed out the trail and formed a (according to Jake) 7 foot deep sink-hole. The reason the title if this blog reads: "Payback is a...." is because a month or so ago, Wes had a similar encounter involving the same creek and a 4-wheeler where he flipped upside down and drowned his ride... His Dad took advantage of every occasion that Wes would go riding by throwing Wes a life-jacket or making a sly comment about a life-jacket and "swimming in the creek"... Unfortunately for Jake: There were no pictures taken of Wes during his ordeal.....

School is out for summer!!!!

Wow, what a year this has been. Braden finished up kindergarten and "YES" he is going to first grade! Wyatt almost missed out on his last few weeks of school due to his foot injury but, he was able to make it the last few days! He also had a great year and got the National Fitness Award! Charity received the Principals Award as well as the A-B honor roll! She will be going to the middle school next year and that is a little scary to me! I can't believe she is old enough for Middle School!

Amy is my life saver for the summer! She has offered to keep the kids for Wes and I while we work! She has a couple of teenage girls that will be there to help her with all 6 kids! She is amazing, she has set up a class room and they are having "school" everyday! That way the kids don't get behind during the summer and will be ready to start the new school year with a bang! Thank you Amy!!!!

Wesley's first Deer!

Wes killed his first deer on Friday the 16th! He took the day off work to hunt...what was really freaky is he told me Thursday night "I just have this feeling I am gonna get me a deer tomorrow!" He was sooo excited. He did the whole spread the blood on your face thing which I find NASTY! Well good for him! I am sure it is the first of many.

Christmas on Floyd Circle

Our Christmas celebrations kicked off Saturday. The kids and I went to Greenville to do our yearly Christmas party with my family. My family has grown soooo big. We had a good turn out. There were a few years there when it was just us grandchildren and we were to old to get excited like kids do. But this year we had 13 great grand kids. It was crazy but sooo much fun! We will go Christmas Eve to my other grandmothers for lunch then come home and make cookies for Santa. THEN Christmas morning Jake and Sandy will come up before the kids wake up and we will see what Santa brought. We will make breakfast and MikenAmy and kids will come up for breakfast and open more presents! We will then go to my dad's for lunch and MORE presents and back home for dinner with the Floyd Circle Crew. I LOVE Christmas! Spending time with family...... good times! Merry Christmas to ALL! We love you guys!
